Concordia asks for the situation of the police force

The general councilor of Concordia, Pol Bartolomé, has asked the Government a series of questions related to the employment situation in the Police Force, so that they will be answered in writing. Bartolomé argues that the high level of public security is the backbone of Andorran society, but that the proliferation of new conflicts, especially in the digital environment, calls for a reinforcement of the resources that the State allocates to the maintenance of public security . He also explains that the police force has been in a delicate situation for years due to a lack of cash and the need to have material adapted to the height of its responsibility.

Among the questions raised, Pol Bartolomé asks the executive for the new hires he has planned until the end of the legislature, in addition to whether he maintains the commitment to reach 300 employees, as has been expressed on several occasions since the direction of the body. Bartolomé recalls that increasing the number of troops "is a fundamental challenge" to guarantee public safety, among others, in mass sporting and tourist events. In this sense, he wants to know if there is a specific protocol for this type of event.

The General Councilor of Concordia also asks about the continuing training of the members of the Police Force and their physical preparation and the fact that this can take place during working hours, as happens in other special forces. At the same time, he asks what has been planned in order to achieve greater participation in the edicts of access to the body.

In the legislative field, Pol Bartolomé wants to know if the ministry is evaluating the possibility of deploying a new public security law, "which details a better balance between security and the protection of individual freedoms". And in relation to housing, taking into account the complex situation that the country is experiencing, he also asks what has been planned to facilitate that the officers of the Police Force can comply with the requirement to live in Andorran territory.

In addition, Concordia's general counsel has formulated a specific question about Pas de la Casa. Considering the large number of tourists who gather in the encampada town during the winter months, he wants to know if the current police force is sufficient to guarantee the maintenance of security and public order.

Amendment of immediate application to the Law on the Registration of Religious Entities

Although Concordia already presented a few weeks ago the amendments to the bill qualified for the Register of Religious Entities, within the initially established deadline, the substitute president of the parliamentary group, nuria Segues, has entered an additional amendment related to a final provision of the text, in which an article of the Qualified Immigration Law is modified. Specifically, what refers to the granting of residence and work authorization, once the validity of the authorization to stay or stay and work under a temporary and transitory protection regime has expired, which is what protects Ukrainian refugees for humanitarian reasons. So, so that these people are not left helpless, this modification must be made so that this part of the text enters into force immediately once it is published in the BOPA, and not after six months, as is foreseen for the other points of the law.
